On October 23, 2024. An officer from the Chippewa Falls Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. When the officer activated his emergency lights, the driver (Brandon) refused to pull over and continued to speed. After a short pursuit, lasting approximately 1.19 miles, Brandon eventually pulled over and was ordered to exit the vehicle.
Brandon exited his hand in the air and complied with the officers commands. He was secured in hand cuffs and placed in a squad car while officers searched his vehicle. Brandon stated that he was on his way to visit his probation officer and didn't know why he fled. Inside the vehicle, officers located tinfoil with burn marks, fake money, a glass pipe, and a metal container with a white crystal like powdery substance inside. After utilizing a multi drug test kit, the powder tested positive for the presence of cocaine and weighed .09 grams. Brandon was found guilty for Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer and Possession of Cocaine. He was sentenced to 5 years of probation and required to pay a $ 5,684 fine.
