On October 26, 2025. Officers from the Fort Atkinson Police Department responded to a residence after multiple 911 calls reported that a male (Logan) shot a firearm outside before going back into his house. When officers arrived, they took cover behind their squad cars and told witnesses to go back inside of their homes.
Officers used their squad car's PA system and ordered the suspect to exit the house. Logan came outside briefly where law enforcement recognized him from prior police contacts. Logan was yelling and went back inside before sticking his head out the door and saying “'You guys look so cute with your guns pointed at me.” A female and male were standing inside of their garage at a neighboring residence, yelling towards Logan. An officer documented that it sounded like they were pleading for Logan to give up. Officers shouted at the subjects to go inside and stop talking to Logan.
An officer heard what he described as a loud thud from inside the residence that sounded like it was potentially a muffled gunshot. During this time, officers were still unsure if there were any potential victims inside the house. Officers attempted to contact Logan Via phone but he did not answer. Logan then exited the home through the front door with an AR-15 style rifle in his hands. It was documented that Logan stated something similar to 'lets go' or 'lets do this' before pointing the firearm directly at officers. An officer fired his rifle several times and Logan fell to the ground.
After realizing that Logan was still moving, officers shouted commands for him not to reach for the weapon and keep his hands visible. EMS was called and officers approached Logan before securing him in restraints. Officers provided emergency medical care to Logan until EMS services arrived. An ambulance transported Logan to the Fort Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred via Med Flight to UW Madison Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No law enforcement officers or members of the public were injured during the incident and officers were cleared of any wrongdoing.
