“On Saturday 06-15-2024, a man named David called Jackson County Dispatch multiple times using the 911 emergency line. He reported no emergency and refused to provide his information or details about what he was calling about.
When I arrived on scene, David advised me his girlfriend had locked him out of his hotel room. David informed me he was paying for room 138, and his girlfriend had room 137. David stated that his girlfriend's juvenile daughters were staying in room 138 and him and his girlfriend were staying in room 137. I assisted with mediating between the two. Both agreed the juvenile children would move into room 137 with the girlfriend and David would stay in 138 for the night. I spoke to David about his calls to 911. I asked him why he had called numerous times and refused to give dispatch any of the information they asked for and also hung-up numerous times after calling. David told me he was just upset, and angry and wanted a deputy to show up. He stated he felt law enforcement was not responding fast enough so that is why he called. David stated there was no real emergency, but he just wanted a deputy to show up and tell his girlfriend to let him back into the room.
At approximately 10:37 P.M. I was dispatched to a report of an ongoing verbal argument at the Days Inn. Earlier in the night I responded to the same address for a civil dispute between the same individuals.
When I arrived, I spoke to the employee of the Days Inn, he stated that the girlfriend had called the front desk and stated David was in her room and had gotten violent and she needed law enforcement to come back. I then responded to room 137, where they were residing. As I approached, David came out of room 137 and uttered that his girlfriend had called him names. I directed David down the hall to speak to me. I spoke to him briefly where he told me that she had called him names while he was trying to lay down. David was being unreasonably loud while walking down the hall and talking to me. The girlfriend told me her and her children were moving their belongings from room 138 to room 137 when David came back and began yelling at them. The girlfriend told me she was not fearful of David but that he was just being mean. I asked her how long it would take her and her kids to remove their items from room 138 and she told me 20 minutes. I asked her if she could do it in 10 and she agreed. I went and directed David to the front door of the Days Inn. I informed David of what was happening and asked him if it was something he could agree too, in which he did. I also asked David if there was anything he had to have out of room 137, in which he told me no. The girlfriend brought up how David had possession of her car keys, and her vehicle's windows were down, and it was raining causing her belongings in the vehicle to get wet. When I spoke to David, David said he would roll the windows up. David and his girlfriend, both told me they would stay separated and stay in their respective rooms and go to sleep for the night. All law enforcement officers cleared this call at approximately 11:07 PM.
Approximately five minutes later, Deputies were dispatched back to the Days Inn for a dispute at the rear of the building between the two. The front desk worker at the Days Inn had called to report this. I responded and spoke to the girlfriend who told me that David had walked into her room and began swearing and yelling at them. I attempted to contact David in room 138. I knocked numerous times and David then began yelling from behind the door. David opened the door while yelling something to the effect of "come arrest me then" and turned and walked back into the room. David was very boisterous during this time. I entered behind him and informed him he was under arrest for disorderly conduct. David jumped into his bed so I walked around the bed so I could see his hands. I told David to get up, he is under arrest. David stood up and said something to the effect of "just take me then". I grabbed David's left arm and controlled it behind his back as I placed him into handcuffs.I began escorting David out of the room and to the squad car. David told me he had marijuana in a box, in his pocket. When we got to the squad car, I conducted a search of David's person, incident to arrest. I located a sandwich bag with a green leafy substance in his front left pocket. I also located a wood box in the same pocket. David was placed in the back seat of the squad car and seat belted in. David was transported to the Jackson County Jail without incident. David, and all of his property was turned over to the jail.”
David was found guilty for Misuse of 911 services, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was ordered to pay $863 in fines.
