Let's review each episode of the TV show The Venture Bros, the greatest adult animated series ever made!

In the first part of the season finale Showdown at Cremation Creek, Monarch and Doctor Girlfriend have finally gotten back together. To the point they've decided it's time for Doctor Girlfriend to become Doctor Fiance and soon Doctor Mrs The Monarch. Which yes, they actually do call her afterwards. But while it's shaping up to be a wonderful white wedding, a surprise threat is waiting that may turn things red. This is one where a lot happens, and yet, it doesn't feel like much happens. Being a season finale, of course a lot of developments occur. Like how the Monarch's minions captured the Ventures for the wedding after getting absolutely plastered during the Monarch's bachelor party. Or how Orpheus and friends realize that maybe the whole hero business isn't actually for them. Or how Venture realizes Doctor Fiance was actually the girl he met at the strip club last season, and seriously thinks he has another chance with her, despite how that was completely an act and she's, you know, GETTING MARRIED! Or especially how Phantom Limb seems to take Doctor Fiance leaving him pretty well. Only to reveal his pettiness isn't as phantom as his limbs. These are some pretty major plot points. And yet, most of the episode still boils down to characters standing around, talking for extended periods of time. Now in its defense, it's again very character based, things these characters would actually say and do and develop their personalities. Like how Monarch is checking with Phantom Limb to make sure there's no hard feelings, the former saying he's fine while going Most Dangerous Game on everyone who knew Monarch in prison. Where he kills a white supremacist, so, again, he's not all bad. Oh, and remember that lawyer character they made a big deal of in the last season? Yeah, he's back and gone in the same second. What an importance he had... Meanwhile, Orpheus and friends get drunk and say maybe they don't actually want to be seen as the kind of people who wear spandex and go after crazies who also wear spandex. Where I guess Jefferson has no tolerance for alcohol, as he passes out drinking those wax bottle liquid candies I didn't know they still made. But the best are the scenes with Hank and Dean hanging out with Henchmen 21 and 24 respectively. Where Gary introduces Hank to a love for nerd culture. While also pointing out how outdated his entire family's fashion sense is. And meanwhile, Dean acts like a little kid around Henchman 24, showing a surprising knowledge of metals and mechanics and absolutely no social skills. Plus a couple gestures that, well, this episode and Love Bheits are prime examples of calling his orientation into question. Where I'm pretty sure they would have made him explicitly gay if this was made a decade later. Unfortunately, this episode is also the official introduction to Sergeant Hatred, which, I'm curious, does ANYONE like? His one joke is that he's a pedophile, like Baron Underbite, but even less personality. And yet this guy gets promoted to supporting cast later in the series. Seriously, with the writing quality and decisions for this season, I'm surprised they saw another one. But David Bowie is introduced into the show, so I guess that makes things all right. Yeah, despite its problems, I enjoyed this episode, and it does feel like a season finale. Or at least the first part of one, as Phantom Limb crashes the party, demanding Doctor Fiance return to him.
