This is a fun ship to use. The Standard Force H shoots hexagon style lasers. The red weapon fires a wide blast straight ahead. The blue weapon fires semi homing beams at 45 degree angles from the top and bottom of the Force, and is my personal favorite. The yellow weapon fires vertical lasers, minimizing its usefulness, except in extreme circumstances. Missiles are standard Homing Missiles, good for all occasions. Bits are Round Bits, the classic, and will fire with the red weapon equipped. The Standard Force H fires in an X shaped pattern while detached, and behaves in the standard way while it is. The Wave Cannon will fire a shot straight ahead, but also have several homing bolts that trail it and attack enemies, dealing extra damage to tougher Bydo.
This stage is an homage to R-Type Delta's stage 4. Instead of flying to the right, you float upward while still facing right, which was novel at the time of release, and is still a good stage. Near the end in Delta, the blocks that come out of the background to impede you had no obvious tells. In this stage, you can tell which ones will get in your way because they're blue, which is welcome. The boss in this stage flies in and out of the background to start with, and you have to dodge large missiles that it fires at you. The safe spot from Delta doesn't work, because the boss will come out of the background and hit you, so I had to rework my strategy here. I still almost got killed by the missiles, but I got this recording on my second try, so it wasn't bad. Oh, and the ship that flies out of the boss when it's destroyed? It comes back in R-Type Delta's stage 6 and is implied to infect the base that you fly back to. You have to shoot it down while you're there. R-Type Final 2's stage Z6.0 is an homage to that stage, so you can see what happens.
