Here's a 9 Star hunt against a Lagiacrus. It was only four star strength and it beat me up pretty bad.

My character, Susannah, is modeled after Susannah Dean from "The Dark Tower."

I've fought the Lagiacrus plenty of times in "Endless Sky, Endless Sea" while farming for Armor Spheres, as well as practicing the field mission for the swimming part, but as the Optional 6 Star mission usually ends in the monster's nest, I've never seen it leave there before. Big shout out to the Mizutsune for interfering and dealing some damage to my target. I wasn't going to capture the Lagiacrus originally, but since it was dealing so much damage to me and I was running low on resources, I went for it. Plus I had the Capture Pro buff from a meal that one of the NPCs gave me prior to recording the fight.

I love my Lance. Sure you move slow while it's out, but parrying through a monster's attack is super satisfying with all of those beautiful i-frames. Definitely my favorite weapon in the series. I tried so many different ones in previous games, most notably Monster Hunter World, but when I replayed MH World in 2024, I chose the Lance on a whim and it clicked immediately with me. Certainly not flashy or stylish, being an endurance weapon, and it certainly fits my play style.

I have several different armor sets in this game, one for water defense, fire defense, dragon defense, ice defense, and thunder defense. But you know what? I want to be fashionable and cool, so I use the Uth Duna set as my Layered Armor. I'm using the Bulaqchi Specs for her head piece. She looks like she's going to the beach with a fancy outfit and a pair of cool guy sunglasses.

When I was showing my weapon, armor, and gem sets, did you notice that my damage came out to 210? That's because I set it to the Raw Damage in the Options menus as opposed to the Bloated Damage that the game initially sets it at. Looking at the Raw Damage, you can see that the Attack Up gems vastly increase your damage, but if you look at the Bloated values, it seems rather minimal. It's really not. Stuff like Attack Up and Counter gems really add a lot more damage.
