The Ladies Sing The Movies, part 1 of 4
The theme for this week are the songs from movies sung by four prolific ladies, starting with my all-time favorite female singer, Linda Ronstadt. "Winter Light" is the theme of the 1993 film, "The Secret Garden" and this lovely, ethereal song that's one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard plays during the movie's end credits, while its soothing melody is woven throughout the film's score that was composed by Zbigniew Preisner. In an unusual move, the song was only available as the title track of Linda's 1993 studio album, and not on the film's soundtrack album. While the track was only released as a single in the UK and parts of Europe, it never charted, making it another of those songs that I thought deserved to be a big hit.
