During the early 1990s, my music preferences included mellow acoustic instrumental music that was lumped into the New Age genre. Most of the albums I bought were from the Windham Hill label, and it's just lovely music that has stood the test of time for me; I still play them whenever I need to relax or want a feel good vibe. As the Holiday season approached, Windham Hill would release a compilation of Holiday-themed music performed by their current roster of artists that became the Winter Solstice series. This version of "Carol of the Bells" was performed by Liz Story, Andy Narell, Paul McCandless, Barbara Higbie, Turtle Island String Quartet, Philip Aaberg, and Michael Manring.
