"Carbon" from MAP15 of Eviternity II.
I've never really done a track like this before! For Rubicon, Scotty asked for an industrial track in a similar style to the Command and Conquer soundtrack, with a crazy bassline underneath it. I wrote this MIDI in about a week during October 2023, and it was occasionally difficult to know where to go with it, but I kept going back to the C&C track "Drill" to get an idea of how it was structured and how it evolves by introducing different layers and elements that keep cropping up later on in the piece, so that piece in particular guided me a lot when writing Carbon.
Since bass is my main instrument, I was very excited to write a proper bass groove for Eviternity II! Pretty much the entire bass part in this track was written by playing over the drum pattern and then transcribing what I was playing. I'm really looking forward to recording the non-MIDI version eventually because the main sections are a bit addicting to play, heh.
Because this is kinda new territory for me I'm really pleased with how this track turned out and how much people seem to enjoy it, thank you! :)
