TOMICA LIMITED JGTC / Super GT restomod
A day late (and more than a dollar short!), I restore five classic Tomica Limited JGTC/Super GT models from the mid-2000s. Despite being highly detailed releases for their time, all five models arrived in need of attention, with every car missing its wheels, various paint chips and scratches, and both Nissan Z models suffering from broken rear wings.
This build includes:
š No. 0052 Xanavi NISMO Z
Based on the factory-backed Nissan Fairlady Z raced by NISMO, one of the most recognisable cars of the 2004 JGTC season.
š No. 0070 Calsonic IMPUL Z
Another iconic Nissan Fairlady Z, wearing the famous blue Calsonic livery that has been a staple of Japanese motorsport for decades.
š No. 0054 TAKATA Dome NSX
The distinctive green Honda NSX GT500 was one of the most popular and successful NSX race cars of the era.
š No. 0056 ARTA NSX
The striking orange-and-black Honda NSX entered by the ARTA team, a fan favourite from the golden age of JGTC and early Super GT racing.
š Tomica Limited No. 0059 ESSO Ultraflo Supra
The legendary Toyota Supra GT500, instantly recognisable thanks to its tiger-themed ESSO Ultraflo livery and numerous championship successes.
The goal of this restoration is to return these 20-year-old models to display-worthy condition by repairing damaged components, touching up paintwork, and replacing the missing wheels with new realistic sets.
