In-depth meteorological breakdown of the localized tornado outbreak that occurred in the Nebraska Sandhills on April 27, 2025. On a day in which the threat for severe weather was quite conditional over a broad area of the central and southern Plains, western Nebraska went off...a supercell cluster produced seven tornadoes in cyclic fashion, more than one of which were large, intense, and EF2+. In this video, we'll take a deep dive into the meteorology behind this event, including what factors led to Nebraska stealing the show while much of the remainder of the risk area remained dry, as well as the complex storm interactions that may have aided in tornadogenesis throughout the supercells' life cycle.
