After another day of mesoscale activity today, a synoptically evident severe weather sequence is set to begin tomorrow (Sunday, April 27) before peaking on Monday. A potent trough and associated fast-moving jet streak will make its way into the central US, ahead of which a broad warm sector will be in place. While storm initiation is somewhat conditional tomorrow, a widespread severe weather outbreak is possible on Monday from the Great Lakes/Midwest, where a Moderate Risk (level 4/5) has been outlined, to the southern Plains. All severe hazards are possible, including strong/intense tornadoes. The threat will continue into Tuesday and Wednesday.
