In-depth meteorological breakdown of the Moderate Risk severe weather event across the Upper Midwest on April 28, 2025. The Storm Prediction Center issued a rare Day 3 Moderate Risk for this event with the expectation of multiple long-tracked, intense tornadoes across parts of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. However, only a handful of brief and/or weak tornadoes occurred, while large hail and damaging winds dominated severe weather reports.
