...I did manage to get this together once before but after getting a bit more of a feel for finding the focal point  for solar ignition I thought I'd try it again.

...It's not as easy to gauge as it's not a round focal  point but once you find that sweet spot where it's focused just right ignition doesn't take long at all.

...This is actually a viable technique a lot more than trying to shine a soda can for a parabolic reflector. No effort involved at all with this you just need a plastic Water bottle with enough water to fill the the rounded top of the bottle, and bright sunlight obviously.
