...So with a little tweaking, armed with what I had learnt from my last session of experimenting with ceramic spindles, I actually got an ember using a ceramic insert in a host bow drill spindle. This was actually a handle off a terracotta casserole dish that I ground down & fashioned it to friction fit into a bamboo host spindle.
