This was one of my favorite songs of 1980, and it's a duet by singers and songwriters Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway, released posthumously a year after Donny Hathaway's death. The single version is edited from the much longer album version that's almost 10 minutes long, and I just love the arrangements here, particularly the brassy parts, guitar twangs, and handclaps heard throughout the song. Back Together Again went to #56 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, and became Roberta Flack's first Dance chart hit, going to #6. The single also became a Top 5 hit in the UK, peaking at #3 on the UK Pop chart. And it's another song that I thought deserved to be a bigger hit here.
