Hey, it's Aart's first appearance on this channel! He's a 10+ year veteran of this game on BSW, so this was a really solid group of players.
This game had a bunch of big plants come early, with me making full use of my cheap cities with my starting builds. There's one particular BIG PLAY~! at the end of Step 1 that made me a very happy camper.
Also pleased with my decision to bid on the 18 instead of the 21 that was next in the futures market. There was a decent chance of a dud dropping after 18, but its low price also helped my early-game building & turn-order flow a lot. The 18 normally goes for $25 or even higher on turn 3, but it was discounted a bit with 21 and 22 also present in the market.
These plays gave me enough money to win the fight for the 32 plant, which was a beast with 26 having gone under the deck earlier. We then proceeded to get the mother of all market stalls after 32 & 25, and that was all she wrote. Feels great to finally beat Marty on video, let me tell you!
