Hey, some more great players who don't get featured often enough on here! Florentino has a winrate close to 45%, while Holt had a winrate above that mark on his original account (dcholtx). He lost his password a while back and just plays unregistered now.

This game pretty quickly turned into a two-horse race with Holt and Florentino. Flo surprisingly started with 06 (first time we've seen that on this channel!), and planned to not build on turn 1. Personally i think 06 is a better choice than 08 if you're going to do that since it's a cheaper plant with more long-term efficiency, but i see it done with 08 much more often. However, once i built 2 cities, Flo decided to build and run the 06 after all. It actually worked out really well for him after Dionis decided not to bid for 13 for some reason - 06 + cheap 13 turned out to be a powerful combo when the market stalled early!

Meanwhile Holt got off to a fantastic start with 15 + 09 in the cheapest part of the map. He got almost that entire cheap red/blue section to himself in Step 1, and it's awfully hard to lose when you pull that off! Landing 31 at cost turned out to be a huge deal for Holt, as this was a pretty crappy market throughout the game. 29 & 26 were the only more efficient plants out there, so 31 was actually a big moneymaker relative to the field.

After my terrible all-around start, i managed to sorta get back in the game money-wise by pivoting to green & nuclear power. Was way behind on capacity, but may have still had a chance had Florentino not bought out coal on my 36. With 3 coal i could build to 16 cities that turn, likely preventing Holt from ending the game. Flo probably would've won had the game gone another turn since 46 was still in the deck, but perhaps it somehow could've swung my way. The world will never know~
