Another new player to this channel, hi kem! They have a decent amount of experience, making for a solid game here. This also showcases the most expensive Germany config for 2-3P - note the brutal connection cost between the yellow & aqua regions!

This one was all about the power of green plants on Germany. The decision i made here that most wouldn't was bidding for Plant 13 with the 20 on deck. My problem with 20 was that it was too early to get good use out of it, and i didn't want to be chained to a coal-guzzler for the rest of the game. A dud came next after 13 and i was off to the races!

Same thing happened a bit later when i got 18 at cost with 20 & 21 up next. Both of those plants came but i was still thrilled with my deal. Straight up, i would usually pay more for 18 than 20 on Germany! Longer games are not good for the big inefficient plants.

Another important decision was whether to build and trigger Step 2 ASAP. With 26 coming up in the market, i figured it was worth it to remove two plants from the game - there were a lot of potential duds left in the deck. If we'd already seen almost all of the bad plants, on the other hand, i would've stayed put for turn order instead of building. One of those duds came, so the build helped in allowing 26 to stay on. Got it fairly cheap, too!

And for once i played well in the endgame, how about that? Had just assumed i'd buy 31 if no good drops came in Step 3, then realized 34 would give me a good chance to land a 7-capacity plant on the next turn. Not many remaining 6-cap plants, so 5-5-7 was likely a better option than 5-6-6. 36 showed up on the final turn and that was all she wrote!

One last note: you may wonder why i didn't bid for 44 if i was willing to buy 34. Besides the chance of a better drop, 34 was easily better because of turn order. Would be guaranteed no worse than the middle of the turn order if i built to 12 with 34, whereas 44 would've risked me going to the top. Even though i paid $1 more to use 34 for two turns (compared to 44), it was worth its weight in gold because of that. If you need a 7-cap plant to close out the game, do everything you can beforehand to help your turn order!
