This might be the most ridiculous clusterfuck of a game i've uploaded on here yet. Two extremely new players, some struggling with the interface which is expected...but bizarre decisions outside of that.
To start with, reset bought 07 at the start, bought no oil, then built 3 cities! Took a long time to buy more plants, too. Ork overpaid for 05 and didn't build on turn 1 either.
Sooooo i start tilting pretty hard after the 25 auction. Bid Mastaba close to $50 for it, then landed the 26 for about $35. Problem was that oil was expensive AF...because reset refused to buy plants on multiple occasions and kept running the damn 07. Neither of the newbies bought a single coal plant in response - Ork even bought 09 instead of 08 to replace the 05! This kept coal absurdly cheap for Mastaba and handed the game to him as the market stalled...
...until Step 3. Mastaba was all set to go for 18 cities at the end, but reset bought an unnecessary 32 to gobble up all the coal & oil! This meant Mastaba couldn't get enough resources for both 46 & 42, allowing me to win when i couldn't even reach 18. Baaaaaaaaaad kingmaking on the part of the new players - they gave the game to Mastaba with their earlier play, and then they took it away from him.
That said, i will apologize for some of my salt here - i don't want to run off newer players! Hopefully they learn when those kinds of plays would be kingmaking, though; any decent veteran could plainly see that i was ending the game that turn.
