A bunch of players with 4P wins on this channel should make for an interesting game, and it did...for most of the way.

This one had every 5-6 capacity coal plant show up early on, as well as 21. None of them went at cost, though, and it made coal a quagmire later on. Meanwhile i opted to go with the psteinx strategy of cheap efficient plants & good turn order; i'm especially proud of buying 09 over 31 at cost, as i never would have considered that when i started playing online!

When i had another chance at 31 later on, i still wanted nothing to do with it even though i could easily build enough to make full use of it with my green plants. When executing an efficient low-cap gameplan, you want your first endgame plant to be a decently efficient one; 21 & 24 are typically the Mendoza line here. Getting the 31 or (usually) 32 before Step 3 defeats the whole purpose of this strategy, which is to get as rich as possible for the endgame.

When the 34 actually makes it onto the market before Step 3, though? Don't be afraid to go balls-out! That plant is a dream for the Stein playstyle, combining efficiency with enough capacity to be flexible in your Step 3 purchases (that is, deciding whether to go for 17 or 18 cities).

Unfortunately this was another game ruined by one mistake, and this time i was the one who got the gift. Think i would've been the favorite to win even without that, though, considering i passed on a plant in the first turn of Step 3. Only one other player barely made it to 17 cities at the end, while i had over $50 left at 18 cities. Even without that ridiculous plant drop i likely would've won the money battle at 17.
