ACCIDENTALLY MUTED MIC IN THIS VIDEO, SORRY!
MAP CONFIG: No Yellow
Sweet, more 6ers! This is a *really* strong one in terms of player skill, too.
Started off with 09 instead of 10 because i wanted to play for turn order on turn 2, but Stein said he preferred 10. In retrospect 10 would've indeed been better, as i didn't end up buying a plant on turn 2.
The real key decision that lost this for me was bidding for 31 instead of 28. 31 just left me too far behind the eight-ball on money that early. The game almost stalled enough for me to win it, but you can't count on that in a 6er. These have been a learning experience for me, that's for sure!
Stein took advantage of having the entire west coast to himself with OK plants early on, pushing the game to Step 2 ASAP. Worked greatly to his benefit in terms of money, and that matters more in 6P than 5P. He could've been crushed if the market stall happened sooner, but he got a crack at the 25 when i couldn't afford to bid him too high for it.
Meanwhile amitss & mastaba made tons of money but were stuck too high up in the turn order to ever improve their plants, and Mary was in the same situation as me. Wishmaker had a nice balance of capacity & efficiency but they got blocked too hard in the builds; they ended up sacrificing themselves to try and stop Stein from ending, but he saw right through that. He still would've done it had i built to 12 too - well done as usual, Stein!
