A couple more players who haven't been seen on here yet! Seem fairly new to the game in general...
This game is a great teaching tool in a couple ways. First off, the way amitss played the first turn is exactly what you want to do with any newbies in the game. If a great plant is showing in the near futures market, you want to go bottom in the turn order; newer players often panic and buy plants when they don't need to, risking big drops for the people below them. 19 being bought on Turn 2 made amitss a massive favorite.
This game also shows you how to best counter a player who has a huge early money lead: beat them out for a big plant and hope the market stalls. Started to like my position a lot more once i got the 25 with those green plants...
However, amitss then illustrates how to counter *my* strategy: massive building to remove bad plants from the game. 11 & 12 both showing up and being built off was a huge deal for him, as that sped the game up by 1 or 2 turns.
That building was what won it for him in the end; if the game had taken just 1 turn longer to reach Step 3 i would've been able to end it before he caught up. Buying the 20 was technically a mistake for me here, but not one that concerns me too much...either 20 would be correct or i'd lose anyway. This game is a great demonstration of money vs. capacity and what's needed for each side to win that matchup!
