Today's a special treat - i relish the chance to record Baden games! Really want to get more people playing this map, and hope these videos will help the strategy make more sense to yall~
The main difference with Baden 2P is the first few turns, where 04 & 05 are worth way more than usual. This is because of their access to cheap coal and turn-order advantages. The 03 player is put in a terrible spot if they don't win 05 on turn 2, as they must buy something to move the market but will be stuck up top burning either 3 coal (with 08) or 3 oil (with 03 + 09). This game was different because of Morph's starting triple build, which is especially bad with these turn-order rules, and i was probably better off giving him 05 and taking 08 as the bottom player.
Notice me bidding for 10 with 13 on deck, too - that's also a Baden play. The future plant market will tell me whether i'd rather have 13 or the bottom spot in the turn order there. Here it pretty much won me the game, as being bottom earned me a big fat 18 drop out of nowhere! 25 not dropping for Morph after i bought the 20 just added insult to injury - extremely unlucky game for him, but i think he would've lost anyway given his inexperience in the opening.
PROTIP: 04 is usually worth $7 in 2P Baden, and i'd even go $8 if there isn't a particularly strong first city (and buy 05 instead of 03 in this case!).
