Even though i lost, i'm very happy to put this one up! It shows that 2-player isn't always about winning the economy. Even though i was more efficient than teokop throughout the game, their capacity lead was just too much to overcome. This kind of game flow is common on the all-northern Italy config, as it has by far the cheapest building of any BSW map; this allows the player with bigger early plants to end the game before the richer player can catch up.
This game is also a perfect demonstration of a concept i discuss in my strategy articles - buying both the 20 & 25 plants in order to keep coal cheap for yourself. Note how teokop stopped using the 20 for a while once they won the 25 - that wouldn't be happening if i had one of those plants! This strategy wouldn't have been nearly as effective if a plant like 21 or even 15 showed up for me, but i never found a good opportunity to punish coal.
One last thing i didn't realize at the time: Taking 03 over 09 was a mistake if i was going to build to 2 cities. Did not expect teokop to stay at 1 for another turn...lesson learned! Now i see why jbode always pairs 06 with 09 in these games. Not that this would've made a difference here since money wasn't why i lost, but good to remember for the future!
