GAME 1 MAP CONFIG: Red-Purple-Brown
GAME 2 MAP CONFIG: Blue-Yellow-Aqua
Hooray, another player who likes 2P! A pretty darned good one, too...
Game 1 features my absolute favorite 2P map config on BSW, with the costly half of Italy. You get stuck with extremely expensive builds at the start, and there are a number of places to jump past your opponent.
Thrilled with how i played this one...until Step 3. My key mistake was buying the 32 when i should've passed on plants altogether. This was another case of me getting into a panic for capacity when i didn't need to, which is my biggest weakness at this point. Given how expensive the builds were, i should've expected Step 3 to last longer.
A good rule of thumb is that if you didn't buy a plant on the last turn, either you got amazing drops before or you fucked up somewhere. A number of my recent games have definitely fallen into the latter category. Passing on plants for a turn instead of buying a mediocre Step 3 plant allows you to stay low in the turn order and wait for something better in future turns.
The France game, on the other hand, was one of my smoothest games on here so far. Another tricky config for building, and i like my performance after my opponent's early jump north. 11 was worth its weight in gold, showing precisely why i often pay $20+ for it in 2P France. Not too much else to say, tbh.
