...Here's one I tried ages ago & instantly dismissed it as impossible. Then recently, after discovering how good this Malayan cherry is, I pondered on the idea again.

...I found for me I didn't have the strength in my wrist to apply enough downwards pressure so then I thought if I tied a cord round my wrist I could wrap it round the end of the blade to give me more leverage.

...This was a huge improvement but I had to cushion the cord as it was digging in. I tried this way a few times & was getting close then I repositioned myself & put the blade under my wrist which ment I was pushing down more on it.

...This did the trick & I got an ember which I was quite surprised by considering I'd already wrote it off as impossible. Anyway guys I don't expect you to go rushing out to try it one handed. That was more to test myself & illustrate the importance of the right materials but I'd love to see some of you having a go at this.
