...One of the hardest things to master with the fire plough for me was blade control ie not smashing into the developing dust pile.
Over time I learned I could shave some curls back, on top of the board & make a small divot next to them to act as a forced stopping point.

...That works well but I wanted to gain better control & create a stopping point just by ploughing to one point. With a combination of muscle memory & hours of practice, starting slowly then gradually increasing the stroke length I gradually got better to the point where given good materials I could consistently get an ember this way.

...Anyway this post was inspired by @dalemgumino who made a couple of posts dropping three embers in one groove. Of course my Ego & my competitive nature wanted to do better so I went for it but I got to say I'm gonna stop at four before my heart does. I'll leave it to the young lads I reckon from now on . Five anyone ??....Shit I expect we'll see @dalemgumino running embers down the whole hearth board soon. 😄
