Running Hamsterley Forest parkrun on National Play Outside Day felt very fitting because we really struggled to complete this parkrun without getting very, very distracted! That's the great thing about parkrun, it doesn't have to be about running fast and PBs, it can be about having the most fun time with your family, while outside and being active.
Huge thanks to the team at Hamsterley Forest parkrun for being so welcoming to us and our visiting hamster too! This is definitely up there with the most fun we've ever had at a parkrun!
The walk we had afterwards was gorgeous too. In my opinion it's worth paying the £7 to park all day and then spend the day exploring. The waterfall spot we found was gorgeous and if you have mountain bikes then I'd suggest taking them and hitting the trails afterwards too!
