The forecast of pouring rain in Manchester meant that we changed plans and headed north. We made the best decision as not only did we stay pretty dry, but we discovered the parkrun gem that is Wynyard Woodland parkrun. This course runs straight out-and-back on the Castle Eden Walkway and is super sociable, particularly at the finish!
There is a Planetarium and an Observatory near the car park, and a five minute walk along the trail away from the parkrun start will take you to the wonderfully captivating sculpture that is the Celestial Kitchen. I highly recommend a wander down to this gorgeous sculpture if you visit this parkrun. It's one not to miss! Another thing not to miss are the freshly baked scones from the café!
We had a really wonderful visit here. As always the welcome you get in the North East is second to none. The highlight of my morning has to be the super cute, super fluffy, gorgeous little Lenny! This parkrunday was pure soul food! I highly recommend a visit!
