🛒 MASSIVE PRICE DROP?! Nintendo Switch 2 Games Down to $50 at Costco!
The current landscape of video game pricing has been a massive topic of debate lately, especially with the industry standard aggressively pushing towards that painful $70 or even $80 mark for premium, next-generation releases. Ever since picking up the console during the midnight launch at our local GameStop, I've been keeping a very close eye on the retail market. Building up a proper library can get incredibly expensive, incredibly fast. But rumors have been swirling around the gaming community that certain big-box warehouse stores are quietly dropping the hammer on these prices. Specifically, I kept hearing that Costco warehouses were heavily discounting mainline Nintendo Switch 2 titles.

I had to see it for myself. So, we headed out to the local warehouse to hit the electronics section and verify if these massive price drops were actually real. What we found in the Game Center absolutely blew my mind.

🔥 THE NINTENDO SWITCH 2 DISCOUNTS
Walking up to the Nintendo display, the rumors were instantly confirmed. We are talking about major, first-party, heavy-hitting titles seeing unprecedented price cuts.

Kirby Air Riders: Sitting right there on the shelf, marked down to an unbelievable $49.99. For a brand new, mainline Switch 2 release, getting it for fifty bucks is practically unheard of.

Metroid Prime 4: This is the big one. One of the most anticipated games of the decade, also marked down to $49.99! Finding a flagship title like this with a massive discount so early in the console's lifecycle is a huge win for physical collectors.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A & Mario Tennis: While not quite hitting that magic $50 sweet spot, both of these titles were still discounted down to $62.99, which easily beats the standard retail MSRP you'll find at most other storefronts.

Seeing these prices is a huge breath of fresh air. There is absolutely nothing quite like adding a proper, physical release to the shelf. Holding that case and knowing the actual game data is right there on the cartridge completely validates the physical media hunt. It perfectly avoids the deeply frustrating trend of digital-only releases or those useless boxes that just contain a download code card. Getting genuine physical media at a steep discount makes the trip totally worth it.

🎮 PLAYSTATION 5 PRICING UPDATE
While we were cruising the electronics aisles, we also took a quick detour over to the Sony PlayStation area to check out the current hardware pricing, especially with some of the recent industry price increases going into effect.

They had the PlayStation 5 Slim All-Digital edition sitting at $549.

Right next to it, they offered a PS5 Slim Bundle that included the attachable disc drive for $599. I honestly thought that specific bundle was supposed to retail for a higher premium, so seeing it under the $600 mark at a warehouse club is definitely something to keep on your radar if you are looking to upgrade your Sony setup.

💳 THE COSTCO MEMBERSHIP MATH: IS IT WORTH IT?
I know the immediate pushback to deals like this: "But you have to pay for a Costco membership!" Yes, that is absolutely true. A warehouse club requires an annual fee to even walk through the door. However, let's break down the simple math. When you are saving $20 or more on a single first-party Nintendo release like Metroid Prime 4 or Kirby Air Riders, those savings stack up incredibly fast. If you don't currently have a membership, the discount you get from buying just two or three of these physical games will literally pay for the cost of the entry-level membership itself. By the time you walk out the door with your games, you are already coming out ahead monetarily.

So Is Costco Now THE PLACE To Save On Switch 2 Games & PlayStation Hardware? It is highly recommended to check your local warehouse to see if they are running these same deals, as inventory and pricing can sometimes vary by region. I've seen these prices reported for some time elsewhere but they didn't drop here until just recently.
