In a recent YouTube Short, we took a look at the newly released demo for Marvel Cosmic Invasion, which is currently enjoying a great discount on the Nintendo Switch eShop. What I completely missed, however, is that the full physical version is actually available RIGHT NOW!
When this game was first announced in late 2025, I honestly figured we’d be waiting at least a year before seeing a physical copy, especially having been trained by the long wait times associated with companies like Limited Run Games. But Dotemu pulled off a massive surprise, and the physical release is officially in our hands.
The Unboxing: A True Physical Release!
I picked up the Standard Edition (though there is a Deluxe/Collector's Edition available as well). The box art is absolutely stellar, capturing that classic 90s arcade aesthetic perfectly.
But the most important part? Inside the box is a real, 100% legit physical cartridge with the full game on it. As you guys know, I am a massive advocate for true physical media and preservation. I was thrilled to crack this open and confirm that this is NOT a "Game Key Card," and it is NOT a "Code in a Box." It is exactly what a physical release should be.
(Note: There was a quick day-one update available when I popped it in, which downloaded in seconds).
Campaign Mode & The Full Roster
Unlike the demo, which locked us into Arcade mode, the full release opens up the Campaign. The tutorial gets you right back up to speed, but the character selection screen is where this game truly shines.
The initial roster includes an incredible mix of Earth-bound heroes and cosmic powerhouses:
Captain America
Nova
Storm
Wolverine
Spider-Man
Beta Ray Bill * She-Hulk
Rocket Raccoon
Iron Man
Cosmic Ghost Rider
Black Panther
And She-Hulk
For this run, I had to jump in with Tony Stark. Playing as Iron Man is a blast—the ability to charge your repulsor shots and leave them lingering on the screen is such a cool, strategic mechanic. Just like the demo, the full game is an absolute blast to play.

The RoXolid Verdict
If you are a fan of classic, side-scrolling beat 'em ups like TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, the Power Rangers brawlers, or even the upcoming He-Man game, you owe it to yourself to check this out. Dotemu has absolutely nailed the formula once again, and I am incredibly happy they managed to get this physical version out to the public as quickly as they did.
