đ° The Greatest Video Game Rabbits of All Time! | Easter Special
Happy Easter, everybody! I hope youâve all had a fantastic day with your families. With the holiday upon us, the Easter Bunny is obviously the star of the show, but it got me thinking about the virtual world. What are some of the best, most iconic, or just plain funniest and best rabbits of all-time in video game history?
Iâm moving past the licensed icons like Bugs Bunny todayâeven though there are some genuinely terrific Looney Tunes titles out thereâto look at characters born and bred in the gaming world. From chaotic party animals to veteran space pilots, these are my top picks for the best bunnies in gaming!
đ„ #3: The Raving Rabbids (Rayman / Mario + Rabbids)
These guys are absolutely hilarious. They first burst onto the scene in the Rayman series, but they quickly developed a massive cult following of their own. They remind me so much of the Minions with their slapstick humor, high-pitched screaming, and pure chaotic energy.
The fact that they eventually crossed over with the Mushroom Kingdom in the Mario + Rabbids series was a stroke of genius. Watching them interact with Mario, Luigi, and the gang showed just how much personality they have. Theyâre silly, theyâre loud, and I absolutely love the chaos they bring to every frame.
đ„ #2: The Broodals (Super Mario Odyssey)
Next up, we have the wedding planners from heckâthe Broodals! When these four characters debuted in Super Mario Odyssey, they felt like a natural evolution of the Koopalings. They are much bigger than your standard Koopa kid, and their designs are top-tier.
Honestly, they remind me a lot of the Gremlins from Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Each one has a distinct, wacky personality, unique animations, and a specific way they carry themselves. The boss fights against them are incredibly creative, and they add such a fun, slightly eerie layer to the Mario universe.
đ„ #1: Peppy Hare (Star Fox)
Finally, we have the most legendaryâand certainly the most quotableârabbit in the galaxy: Peppy Hare. Even if youâve never played a Star Fox game, you know the lines. "Do a barrel roll!" or "You're becoming more like your father!" While Star Fox isn't necessarily my number one favorite series of all time, I have a massive soft spot for it because some of my favorite physical collection pieces are Star Fox related. For instance, I have a copy of Starwing in the collectionâthatâs the title they had to use in Europe because of trademark issues with the name "Star Fox" at the time.
I actually just added to the collection yesterday! I picked up a complete, sealed-in-box Japanese Wii U version of Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard. Now, lookâwe can be honestâthey aren't exactly the best games in the franchise, but for $10 and some store credit? You can't pass that up for the shelf!
