This video shows how you can create worley noise using a shader in Godot.
*note*, I think I said Godot 3.2 in the video, this is off course running on Godot 3.0.2 :)
The output is then send to a viewport (render target) that is rendered one time and then used as a texture for a cube and after that as a heightmap for a plane.
This video teaches some basic 2D and 3D shader logic and how you can use viewport for rendering textures for other objects.
