Severe weather makes a return to the Midwest/Ohio Valley today, where SPC has outlined an Enhanced Risk (level 3/5). A shortwave trough and surface low will shift east today, allowing seasonally adequate moisture to advect northward into the region. Ongoing elevated convection across Missouri this morning will mature as it moves into southern Illinois/Indiana, where it could become surface based. Should this happen, a threat for all severe hazards, including tornadoes (some strong), would evolve.
