Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

To get the patch, you'll need to join the NGPlus discord. A link to join it is located here:

Version being played: 0.4.4

With Marle sent to the shadow realm, Crono & Lucca are going to need to find where the kidnapped queen is. Toma from the last video dropped a pretty big hint that she disappeared after heading to the Cathedral located west of Guardia Forest. No better leads so might as well start there.

Inside, there's four nuns who are little crazy in the head. Talk to the one by the organ to make something sparkle on the ground. Examine it and...oh my, four nuns who turn into Nagas. Totally didn't see that one coming, heh.

Nagas don't do the world's best damage, but they're rather bulky with good physical defense. They absolutely hate fire though so that double tech I learned last time, Flame Whirl, gets put to good use.

After the battle, all seems calm, but a fifth Naga thinks it can be cheeky by trying to ninja assassinate Lucca from behind. Unfortunately for the monster, it gets out ninja'd by a knight.

This knight is very peculiar...namely, he's a froggy knight. His name is Frog, but for one of the two times in this playthrough, I'm switching his name to someone heroic, Rex.

In any case, Frog's a solid attacker with decent speed. He begins with the Slurp technique, healing a target and lifting any ailments.

Examine the organ and play it to reveal a door that leads deeper into the church...and the first real dungeon of the game.

Several new enemies lurking around the area, but nothing that should really pose too much threat.

The first hallway has a couple Diablos enemies shuffling about. Easy to avoid while grabbing the Revive & Tonic from the chests going west.

After passing through the door, head up the stairs to the north and through another door. Loot inside includes a Tonic, Ether, and armor for Lucca, the Maiden Suit.

As for the drawer? There's a Naga Bromide inside. Evidently a trio of Grumps won't stand for the precious loot being stolen and attack the party. They get torn apart by Flame Whirl.

Exit the room when finished, then head north to claim a Steel Saber that Crono should equip right away. Examine the skull on the nearby wall to lower some spikes and enter a room with two soldiers. They confirm that the queen is here which is good. Grab the Soda Tab in the pot before exiting.

Backtrack to the staircase, then go down and head all the way east to the other staircase. Ignore the first door you see and enter the one far in the back. There's some obvious tomfoolery at play here, but check out the room to the east. There's a bunch of monsters singing at a statue with a Defender & Speed Belt (boosts speed by 2) in chests.

On your way back out, the tomfoolery room turns into a trio of Gnashers that must be killed. Do so, then exit, head back down the staircase, then go west and north straight up the middle of the room to the next area.

The next area is pretty simple to navigate. Do a clockwise rotation around the area while grabbing loot (Shelter, Tonic, and a Heal). When you hit the eastern room, hit the switch on the wall to open up the center room. Make sure you're healed though because you get attacked by a trio of Grumps and a pair of Diablos.

After the fight, grab the Iron Sword for Frog in the chest, then examine the organ to reveal a door by the Tonic & Heal chests. Head through, then bolt north to slip past the Grumps. Save & heal, then head north. Congrats, the queen is here safe & sound and a chancellor decides to drop his human form and turn into the first boss of the game, Yakra.

Yakra definitely makes a solid impression for the first major boss of the game. Physicals don't hit all that hard, but the real gimmick is that he's very counter happy, hitting everyone for 15-20 damage each time. If you hit him while he's near a character, he won't counter.

Other then that, the only thing to keep an eye on is when Yakra looks like he's about to launch something from his body. He'll launch his strongest attack, Needle Spin, which hits a target for around 50 damage.

After the fight, the queen's happy her knight in shining armor rescued her, then prepares to leave. The real chancellor is stuffed in a chest with a lone Mid Ether in the other one. Exit south and you'll go back to the castle.

The good news? Leene is safe & sound. Frog though decides to pull the "I failed you" card and leaves. Head to Leene's bedroom to find Marle returning from the shadow realm and rejoining the team.

After one last scene with Frog leaving the castle, the video concludes.
