Best plan here? Have Darius bring Jakka to his father Kangax under the pretense that he's a merc hired to protect Darius. That's great and all, especially when Kangax's face looks ready to go full zombie mode. A shame Darius has to report to his father on a regular basis lest he get suspicious.

What Kangax doesn't know though is a clever plan by Darius to oust him from power. Kangax is gathering power until he can kick start his own world domination tour Tyronar style. Kangax has one big advantage though...because of his status as a lich, he can resurrect an infinite amount of times.

What can be done about this? Darius taking the entire party to the fabled Tomb of Horrors. Inside is an amulet once used to bring down a previous nightmare that only the Lightbringers of ancient times could destroy, that being the lich queen Morganis.

The objective for the Tomb of Horrors is simple....there's four thrones scattered about the map. You'll need to visit a total of three in order to get the Morganis Amulet. Easy in theory...but there's all manner of undead roaming around to make your exploration tricky.

Oh yes, there's also the return of those annoying as all hell floating eyes with devil reversal too, making Albert a very very nice person to bring along simply to deal with them thanks to Nihil.

Also, your unit deployment limit is a fair touch lower than past maps at 12. On top of that, if you picked up the Void Shield skill with Caroline or Victoria back in chapter 17, the next step of the hidden regalia sidequest lies here so you'll need to bring the bearer along. Make sure either girl is in the upper half of your deployment positions since the map will make a wall appear that divides your team up once you begin the mission.

Finally...the tomb has a nasty gimmick besides all the wall creating shenanigans. Every turn on lunatic, a curse will be cast that either debuffs your entire team in some way or buffs all enemies. The curses and their effects are as follows...

Curse of Atrophy - Staves are disabled for the turn
Curse of Selfishness - Rescuing is banned for the turn
Curse of Greed - Item usage is banned for the turn as well as the act of trading with one another
Curse of Sand - Vision is severely limited for the turn
Curse of Poverty - Takes 500 gold from your war funds
Curse of Darkness - Buffs a special someone
Curse of Misogyny - All females are silenced for the turn
Curse of Misandrie - All males are silenced for the turn
Curse of Guardians - Spawns extra enemy units
Curse of Haunting - Increases the move of the special someone
Curse of Blood - All enemies gain +10% critical hit rate for 3 turns
Curse of Vulnerability - All enemies deal +10 damage for the turn
Curse of Weakness - All enemies take -10 damage for the turn
Curse of Clumsiness - All enemies gain +10% avoid for 3 turns

Quite a few affects isn't it? You'll need to be prepared to adapt to whichever curse is tossed your way. Just make sure to have both healing items and staves so you can patch up no matter what curse you need to deal with.

You're probably asking one question at this point...who's the special someone two of the curses reference? As Varg points out early on, there's a specter roaming the tomb who goes by the name Nemesis. He holds something very special...House Darkholm's regalia, Voidflare. The secret lunatic objective requires you to kill Nemesis and claim Voidflare for yourself. Seems easy, but there's two problems with that.

First, Nemesis can begin in any corner of the map. Considering that Voidflare has the single highest attack power of any weapon in the game at 40 mt, he can straight up delete any low res target if they're unlucky to ram into him. Lot of good that does though when I get stupid lucky for Isabelle to be the one who runs into him as she is the best equipped to tank the magic between Dawncaller's weapon type advantage, its innate Renewal effect, and Holy Water to dull the damage further.

However, there's another problem...Voidflare is providing absurd defensive boosts to Nemesis, making him invincible. Weakening him requires finding five soul fragments around the map. Destroying one lowers his stats a fair amount. Once all five are gone, Voidflare's defensive bonuses get hugely nullified, making Nemesis possible to be killed by your weapons.

Now, you're not likely to have the luck I had in having him attack your tankiest unit. There's two ways to force him to teleport away. One is to search a throne, the other is to have Varg talk to Nemesis. Any built up stat buffs Nemesis got from turns progressing or curses will be reset upon him warping away to a random corner.

More next time!
