Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

Not much left to the game but to go give Queen Zeal a royal beating. Make sure you have everything you want before going north to see the queen though as you won't be able to back out once you start the fights.

First up in the boss gauntlet is the queen herself. Her opener, Hallation, is admittedly very scary, reducing everyone's hp to 1. Frog & Ayla can capitalize on this with Frog Squash & Dino Tail respectively if you choose.

Her other attacks? Just single target attacks that'll be lucky to break 200 damage. Pop an AoE heal tech of some kind and you'll be safe until the next Hallation.

Boss fight #2 takes place after the queen decides to send everyone to the shadow realm...and by shadow realm, I mean she tosses everyone inside the Mammon Machine so they can fight it. Not sure how that works, but ok!

The Mammon Machine is a rather gimmick driven fight as seen when it states it's modifying all energy. What this means is that any physical attack raises its physical defense while any magic attack raises its own attack. The physical side of it is annoying as you won't be doing any physical damage after three or four such defense increases.

As for magic...that's a dangerous route to take too because after enough time has passed, the boss unleashes all of its built up magical energy in an AoE attack. Too many magical attacks could make it wipe the whole party if your whole squad has low magic defense. Might not be a bad idea to pop some Barrier items to give you more wiggle room for using strong magic attacks for longer before the AoE.

After the AoE, it won't raise its stats in response to your attacks as well as spending its next two turns using Point Flare. Can be powerful, but it's only single target so even if it was doing four digit damage, the others can focus on reviving & healing the target.

Once the 2nd Point Flare goes off, it'll start modifying all energy again which will make all of its defensive & offensive stats return to normal.

There is one exception to the whole energy gathering shenanigans though...Frog's Masamune. Much like with Magus, hitting the machine with it via a normal strike or a tech will produce an interesting effect instead of stat boosts for the boss...healing Frog to full health. You could have no issue with losing anyone this fight if only Frog attacks the whole battle. Hardly required though.

Once the machine gets shut down, the team pops up on the roof of the Black Omen. The queen decides to go for the union mandated second form for major villains as she turns into her own interpretation of that evil mask from Super Mario Brothers 2 and a pair of hands.

This last fight with the queen is the hardest one of this boss rush. You can't attack the hands unless you want some really nasty counters in your face as well as some strong attacks on tap like the single target lightning aligned Skygate or AoEs like Hexagon Mist (Water) & Dark Gear (Shadow). Using Barrier items seems like a good idea at first...and it is. Amusingly though, Hexagon Mist is actually a physical attack. It's the only reason I can give for how Frog took a little over 300 damage from it, 430+ damage to Marle who had just used a Barrier, and a 198 defense Prism Dress wearing Robo not even taking triple digit damage.

Beating up the mask here isn't hard. What you did for her first form will work here, but keep one person on standby because she can and will still use Hallation. You do not want to end this fight with everyone on 1 hp, trust me.

Once the queen mask gets cracked, she goes down laughing, the Black Omen disappears, and the team magically finds themselves facing down Lavos in its giant shell. No need to go through a bunch of pointless boss rehashes before the main event anymore!

The reason you didn't want to end that last fight with everyone on 1 hp? Lavos opens with its AoE rains of destruction. If you have max speed, you MIGHT be able to get an action off before it fires. The damage is entirely physical based...quite a bit of it actually. Marle nearly gets one shotted by this. Other then that, chaos immunity help with Obstacle as does timely healing.

After the head of Lavos gets deleted, all seems over...but not yet. Lavos's core lies within the shell and it needs to be taken out to end its threat for good.
