Time to break in to the castle. Randall has the front gates secured, but he failed to notice the alternate route that goes through the sewers so Baud's army gets in without much hassle at all.
The objective is to take out Gustav which doesn't seem too bad...and it really isn't. There's just one small problem...Isabelle's parked right in front of him and she needs to survive this map. Thankfully, she goes for anything in her threat range, up to and including Mortimer's clones.
As for the secret lunatic objective, I'll mention that in the next video when it becomes relevant.
Right off the bat in preps, Shay gets promoted, giving her stat boosts of +5 hp, +2 str, +5 mag, and +2 spd/def/res. She also get a D rank in swords and E rank in staves. If she wasn't an absolute beast of a unit before, she gets a Protein Bean & Body Ring to bring her con up and gets her A support with Shom this chapter. Thought that +5 mag from her promotion was bonkers? Her A support with Shom raises magic ANOTHER 5 points, meaning she just pole vaulted to the highest base magic score in my army. If I ever bothered with a tier list, she'd be S tier hands down with all that she can do.
If that wasn't enough hilarity, how about I tell you that I'm ignoring the main gimmick of this chapter too? Galahad's deployed his Steel Knight squad to block off the most direct route to the throne room. Stat wise, they're strong and obscenely bulky with insane hp and high defenses...but not balanced defenses. Most have high def, but low res. Just the four in the very back (two on each half of the map) have lower def and higher res. They also have the Nullify skill which nullifies the weakness to armor effective weaponry.
Aylanda? She does NOT care. Between her Starfall tome, Bethroted, and her A support with Baudimon, she can potentially one shot a Steel Knight or come damn close to it. If needed, Angelus can give her an extra turn to finish the job and Lilinette can patch her up to keep her in Miracle range (which does help her survive a Thoron crit here).
On the west side...surprisingly, Shay can actually deal with the Steel Knights. Not quite as easily as Aylanda, but give her that A support with Shom, the crit rate boost from Emilia, a res buff from a Barrier, and the Holy Symbol...she can tank them beautifully. The first one was a bit of a scare due to the Longbow wielding Sniper nearby, but after that threat passed, she was just fine.
As for everyone else...Fred & Samuel have some important work to do by gunning it hard for the chests in each corner. A Rogue appears from the staircase in the northwest & northeast corner, then can reach the chests 2 turns after that. By having one take each side, they can rush and make it to the chests before the Rogues do. In total, the chests contain a Bolganone, White Gem, Physic, and Bulk Band.
Everyone else just needs to worry about cleaning up the rabble and being ready for some of Ashburn's deadly axe wielding mounted units on turns 6 & 10.
Most importantly...you want to get a majority of your team to the south central part of the map before turn 12 and get them ready for the hardest part of this chapter to come in.
More next time!
