Chrono Trigger: Enhansa Edition is a hack by inuksuk that rebalances things such as characters, equipment, techs, and so on to provide a harder challenge overall.

Melchior's been freed finally. Luckily there's no metroid styled escape sequence cause somehow, freeing Melchior or Giga Gaia's death is the reason the Mountain of Woe decides it's not worthy and falls into the ocean. Nevermind how our team got out of there so quickly before it went down.
Back at Algetty, the obvious is stated...Queen Zeal's getting way too knocked up on the Lavos energy the Mammon Machine provides. So much so that Schala comes in unannounced to mention the Ocean Palace is now fully operational. The problem? The machine kinda needs Schala to function and she's having none of that....well, at least until Dalton joins in the unannounced arrivals party and forcefully takes Schala back to the palace with a splash of teleporting magic.
At this point, all seems hopeless, but Crono ain't having none of that as he's willing to challenge the queen and put a stop to the machine before disaster strikes. He gets a Ruby Knife from Melchior that's to be planted firmly into the machine when they reach it.
Our next task is to return back to Zeal Palace and find a way to enter the Ocean Palace. You're probably wondering how that's going to be possible because the Skyway warps to the clouds were sealed, right? Nope! Schala's a clever girl and unsealed them on her way to Algetty. That also includes unsealing the gate that brought the team here from 65m BC. You can now go quick take the gate and get the two locations added to the quick travel choices at the End of Time if you wish.
Speaking of the End of Time, that's where I head next. I need to get a few more character's 3rd stat boosts, but more important is that Spekkio upgraded his form now that Crono hit lv30 so we can go get that battle knocked out.
Spekkio's form this time takes the shape of the Omnicrone from Guardia Prison. His tier 1 magic shouldn't be a huge issue to deal with, but his tier 2 magic is absurdly strong. So much so that I need to have everyone use a Barrier item or the tier 2 nukes will one shot people. Lucca might be able to survive one without a mag defense buff if she has the Taban Helm, Wall Ring, and has picked up three ranks in magic enhancing stat gains, but she'll likely get knocked to critical, if not come very damn close to it.
The elemental absorption mails make dealing with the nukes far less painful, usually only needing a Full Tonic or two per tier 2 nuke used. The problem, of course, is that Barriers don't last forever and I only have four of them, meaning I have to deal damage as quickly as possible before the one hit kills start to loom. Frog fell once during the battle, but got saved thanks to the Green Dream I put on him and the fight ended soon afterwards.
Rewards from this Spekkio encounter are another Soda Tab and five Full Ethers.
One timeskip later and we're in Kajar real quick since the Nu shopkeep in the middle has Lode Helms & Vests on sale, but only if you mention your pendant isn't Schala's.
One quick timeskip after that and we're right outside the queen's throne in Zeal Palace. Inside? One irritable Dalton who got stuck with the guard work and is forced to fight the team. He can't fight worth a dang because his only real notable moves are a counter that halves the target's current hp and his AoE he unleashes when he runs out of hp (and he runs out very quickly here thanks to Crono & Frog's double tech Spire). Just have your third person be devoted to healing whomever is taking the counter hits and you'll be fine.
Afterwards, Dalton retreats, leaving behind a warp that will take the team down to the Ocean Palace.
More next time!
