Ended up running back to the NYPD just to grab a pair of Revives. There's some rather nasty enemy formations coming up and I don't have any good healing consumables on hand. Heal 2 (heals 60 hp) from my PE abilities can only help so much!

The second half of Central Park is just a bunch of random paths with a total of four chests to start with. If you start by going north at the first fork, the path will eventually lead to a screen where you start in the northeast portion. To the southwest is a chest with a Tool (or a Super Tool if you get a 1% lucky roll). Southwest of that chest leads to a path taking you towards the boss of this area, but also a series of painful encounters you'll have to deal with. Go southeast first though since you can go straight east through a few screens and nail the last few chests (Defense +1, Sv Vest 1 with an armor ability increasing your item inventory slots by 1, and either a Tool, Ammo +15, or Medicine 2 in the final chest).

The good thing about all those chests? You do not have to engage with any enemies if you're willing to take the long way around for the Defense +1 and Sv Vest 1 chests. Two red snakes by the Defense +1 chest isn't too bad, but the bear & crow on the screen with Sv Vest 1 chest can be nasty solely because the battle area there is rather tight and on a bit of a weird camera angle. At least I survived it with 1 hp, heh.

When you're ready...the encounters of pain route to the southwest of the Tool/Super Tool chest. There's four fights you'll have to blast through before reaching the save point before the boss.

First fight...five crows. Tricky because five of them plus using a rifle means there's a good chance you're going to take a hit. At the very least, they don't hit like freight trains so once you can knock out a couple, it gets easier to use Heal 2 to recover and be sure you're as close to full hp & pe as you can get before the next fight.

Second fight...two red snakes & a bear. You need to off the snakes quickly so you can focus your efforts on the bear. Had to burn a Revive here, but I was expecting to use at least one either here or the next fight.

Third fight...two monkeys. Can be nasty due to the arena being rather cramped for two of them. Luckily, Aya's newest pe ability saves me from needing to blow my other Revive here, Barrier.

Barrier is amazing. Costs 40% of Aya's pe bar to setup a shield that uses your remaining pe to block damage if you take a hit. Doesn't matter if you have lots of pe or 0.1% remaining. If there's any pe remaining, you will take no damage if you take a hit. Once you run out of pe, your meter will start recharging like normal.

After the two monkeys, don't bother with the stairs and go straight north. Two chests here (PE +1 or CR Evade +1 in one, Defense +1 or Tool in the other). Going north more gives you a free ride until you get on the screen with the save point. The last fight shows itself here, three crows & a plant. This isn't that bad to manage. You can take out either the crows or plant first. Just bait the plant into doing its poison cloud attack before you do any attacking yourself and you should get through without too damage taken.

More next time!
