Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

Got some Caretakers to deal with once again, but first thing's first!
Last video, Mai joined the army as their magic supplier. Normally, this means he or she is rather mediocre or even useless in battle. Not for Mai because she's actually a very good mage. Third highest magic stat in the game, very good magic defense, speed that's higher than Myst or Midian (just a shade lower than Naja to boot), and hp comparable to Yan Angwa.
Mai's one weakness? Her Mp+ stat is lacking for a dedicated mage. It only looks good because she comes with an Opal Amulet that's boosting it by 4. Might struggle later in the game when more expensive spells become available, but for now she's quite capable.
The forest we need to check out is outside Harlinton to the north. It's the same one that Daniel & Fitch escaped from long ago for reference.
In the forest, the Caretakers are in attendance minus their so called leader Tiamat. They're attempting to create some kind of summoning seal, but when they spot Daniel's team inbound, they retreat...well, except for Boris. He decides that now's a great time to stand his ground and try to stop Daniel's team.
So, here's the problem with that...Boris does have good damage potential, doing around 150+ damage with his regular strike and 180-200 with Glorious Thunder Flail.
The catch? Mai with a simple Mend spell heals around 170-180 hp at her level. Boris is in a losing battle, simple as that. Do steal his Titanium Bracer before taking him down though.
After the fight, Boris gives a long drawn out monologue before dying for good, causing both Ice & Orlando to likely facepalm in disgust cause Boris basically killed himself. Hell, they don't have much time to think of a backup plan before the Daniel alarm comes their way once more. While Ice runs away like a coward, Orlando decides he's having none of this sneaky business and stands his ground.
Unlike Boris, Orlando doesn't want to fight, but he does have a major bone to pick with Deus and basically the primary reason he had to hook up with a group like the Caretakers.
As it turns out, he & Deus were partners in crime, relying on thievery to make a quick buck and pay back loans. Deus was tasked to do some thievery in Cento Temple, but the more time he spent with the locals, the more he realized his way was the wrong direction to head in which lead him to taking up a holy upbringing...and essentially leaving Orlando out to fend for himself.
As for Deus, he admits to what he did, saying he was afraid that the people of the temple would have found out his secret and his situation going far more south than intended. Daniel remarks about Deus's so called lack of faith in his priest buddies. To be honest, I think they would have been willing to help him & Orlando if he was upfront & honest about their situation, but that's just me.
In the end, Orlando sees a chance to get revenge...but even he admits that it's a what good does it do me type of situation. Would him beating up Deus really change anything? Not really.
As such, Deus decides to offer Orlando a spot in Daniel's army, meaning he has a roof over his head. Better than nothing to Orlando so he joins on board (but not for Deus's sake).
Orlando's basically a more bulkier version of Yan Angwa. While his magic is a pinch lower than his, Orlando's got slightly more hp, a fair bit more defense, and the highest magic defense of anyone in the game. He's also got a quite decent speed score. Best of all, he has the same Focus skill that Myst has.
After returning to Harlinton, head back to meet with Leonius to begin devising a plan to deal with Matrech. Besides the region around there, there's also Highland, Mayfall, and Oischin. Highland's been taken over by Rock's forces and they'd rather watch Matrech burn to the ground while Oischin is of little strategic value.
Daniel suggests forming an alliance with Highland, given he can get in contact with Rock pretty easily, meaning Matrech could be attacked from the north & west simultaneously.
Leonius though suggests something even better. There's a mythical structure known as Gaia's Heart. Once thought to be a bridge of sorts, it's actually a cavern that stretches from the Harlinton region all the way to Mayfall. Could be a very nice way to get the drop on said region and isolate Matrech even more.
Next time, Daniel takes a team into Gaia's Heart to see where it deposits everyone and if an attack on Matrech from there would be a wise choice.
