Hailing from Philadelphia, Audrey began her career as a recording artist with “The Apple Didn’t Fall Far From The Tree”, released in the US on Epic in 1976. However, he recording career didn’t start effectively until she signed with Ariola Records in Germany in 1983. In between she played the role of Afton Cooper in the US TV show, “Dallas”.
Her debut album for Ariola, “Little River” was produced by Jack White. The album was released with more tracks the following year, with the title changed to “Wo Der Südwind Weht”. As such, it went to #4 on the German album chart. The album contained the German hit singles, “Manuel Goodbye (#10), “Playa Blanca” (#38) and “Little River” (#28).
Producer Jack White was born Horst Nußbaum in Cologne, He played soccer for the Dutch club, PSV Einhoven before entering the recording business in the mid 60s. He began as a singer but quickly developed into a writer and producer. By the 80s, his fame had spread worldwide and he was working with (and/or providing songs for) artists such as Cheap Trick, Laura Branigan, Barry Manilow, Engelbert Humperdink, Jermaine Jackson and Pia Zadora.
Co-writer Charles Blackwell’s career stretched back to the early 60s. Mike Sarne’s #1 UK hit, “Come Outside” was one of his songs.
