The duo were backing vocalists and songwriters before striking out with their own recordings in 1985. They had written “"How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)”, both US #1 hits for Whitney Houston.
Their first album, “Boy Meets Girl” charted at #76 in 1985 and gave rise to the hit single, “Oh Girl”. The “Reel Life” album in 1988 peaked at #50 and featured “Waiting For A Star To Fall”, which reached #5 on the Hot-100, as well as being a big hit in both the UK and Australia. The song was used in the 1990 film, “Three Men And A Little Lady”, starting Ted Danson and Tom Selleck.
