Formed as a threesome in London in 1979, the group were one of the most successful girl groups of the 80s. Right off the bat, they found success not only in the UK but in the US, the Netherlands and Australia as well. “Cruel Summer” in 1984 gave them a Top-10 hit in both the UK and US. Stock, Aitken and Waterman produced some of the tracks on Bananarama’s third album, “True Confessions” in 1986. They produced all of the tracks on the follow-up album, “Wow!” the following year. It was a very successful album, with a #1 placing on the Australian chart as one of its achievements. “I Heard A Rumour’ was one of four tracks on “Wow!” which became hit singles; reaching #4 in the US and #14 in the UK.
