Scotch were an Italo Disco ensemble who had a number of hit recordings throughout Europe in the early 80s. They were formed by Fabio Margutti and went on to place four singles on the German charts between 1984-86. “Disco Band” was the first of these, reaching #3 in 1984. The disc also reached #28 in their native Italy.
Scotch's debut album, “Evolution” reached #63 in Germany. Scotch’s discs were also big sellers in Sweden, where “Delirio Mind” and “Mirage” both went to #1.

Hailing from Norway, the group debuted on record in 1884 with the original version of “Take On Me”, which only charted in Norway. This re-recording, produced by Alan Tarney, followed in 1985 and did the trick It was #1 in the US, Australia and Germany and #2 in the UK.
