Hello everyone once again to another car commercial of the past. In today's commercial, we have a 1985 Toyota Van featured that shows what the Toyota Van is capable of. Lets get into specifications shall we?
The base and only engine for the Toyota Van in 1985 was a 2.0 Liter, Inline Four Cylinder engine that produced 90 Horsepower at 4400 RPM with 120 LB-FT of Torque at 3000 RPM. Fuel Mileage for the 2.0 Liter engine was good for a van, at 20 MPG City, 23 MPG Highway in Manual transmission and 19 MPG City and 22 MPG Highway in Automatic Transmission. Rear Wheel Drive was the only drivetrain available.
The base transmission was a 5 speed manual, with a 4 speed automatic as an option.
The Toyota Van came in 3 trim levels; the Cargo trim, the Deluxe trim and the high end LE trim. The cargo trim was essentially more a cargo van version of the Toyota Van that provided very good space in the cargo bay. The MSRP for the Toyota Cargo Van was $9,393. The Deluxe trim of the Toyota Van was a mid range trim (hence its trim level name) that seated 7 people and had a MSRP of $10,208. The LE luxury trim level seated 7 people and had a MSRP of $11,543.
Certainly a more unique looking van out of the offering of vans offered in 1985, the Toyota Van provided a unique look with Japanese reliability and quality.
