The Pontiac Bonneville was a full sized automobile produced by General Motor's Pontiac division from 1958 to 2005. The 1988 Bonneville fell into the vehicle's 8th generation, which lasted from 1987 to 1991.
The base engine for the 1988 Bonneville was a 3.8 Liter, 6 cylinder engine borrowed over from General Motor's luxury division Buick, that produced 150 Horsepower at 4400 RPM with 200 LB-FT of Torque at 2000 RPM. There was also a performance refined Buick V6 available as an option for the vehicle that produced 165 Horsepower at 210 LB-FT of Torque. The only drivetrain available was Front Wheel Drive.
