Hello everybody to another car commercial of the past! Here today, we have a rather unique car commercial for you guys. A commercial that features the Pontiac Sunfire for 1998, with Edvard Munch's famous painting "The Scream" being incorporated into the commercial. Lets hop into the specifications of the Pontiac Sunfire shall we?
The 1998 Sunfire had a base 2.2 Liter, Inline 4 cylinder engine that produced 115 horsepower at 5,000 RPM with 135 FT-LB of Torque at 3,600 RPM. The optional engine was a 2.4 Liter, Inline 4 cylinder engine that produced 150 Horsepower at 5,600 RPM, with 155 FT-LB of torque at 4,400 RPM.
The base transmission on the Sunfire was a 5 speed manual, with a 4 speed automatic available as an option.
Three body styles were offered on the Sunfire; a 2 door coupe , 4 door sedan or a 2 door convertible.
The drivetype for the Sunfire only came in Front Wheel Drive. Curb Weight for the base 2 door Sunfire came in at 2,637 LBs. Expect to add on 100-500 LBs more to the curb weight if options are added and/or body style is changed.
The base price for the 2 and 4 door Sunfire was $12,595 ($17,569 in 2016), and the base price for the convertible was $19,495 ($27,194 in 2016.) The pricing was modest for the 2 and 4 door models, with the convertible being a little on the pricey side.
If you wanted a sporty and fun vehicle that had a domestic American nameplate, and came in various body styles in 1998 , then the Pontiac Sunfire was the vehicle for you.
