Hello once again to another car commercial of the past! Here we have a unique commercial by Pontiac, with a unique 1 minute commercial displaying many visual effects along side it to promote the coupes and sedans features in this commercial. These are the: Pontiac Solstice , Pontiac G6 Coupe, and Pontiac G8 Coupe.
This commercial was created 2 years before Pontiac went defunct in 2010. It's as if Pontiac knew their fate, and made a commercial that showed what they stood for. Truly sad that such a car company like Pontiac, ceases to exist anymore.
Now going back on course, there are a small handful of Pontiac automobiles featured in this commercial. I will choose to talk about in depth, one unique Pontiac featured in this commercial, the little roadster, the Pontiac Solstice. Let's go into the specifications of the Solstice shall we?
The base Pontiac Solstice was powered by a base 2.4 Liter, Inline 4 cylinder, engine that produced 173 Horsepower, at 5,800 RPM, with 164 LB-FT of Torque at 4,500 RPM. The sole optional engine offered was only offered with the Solstice came with the high performance GXP trim level. That was a turbocharged, direct injected 2.0 Liter inline 4 cylinder that produced 260 Horsepower at 5,300 RPM, with 260 LB-FT of torque at at 2,000 RPM.
The base Solstice came with a 5 speed Manual transmission, with a 5 speed Automatic being an option.
The Solstice came with two body styles to choose from. A 2 door hardtop coupe, or a 2 door soft-top convertible.
The base Solstice came in with a curb weight of 2,860 LBs. Expect to add 100-500 LBs more with options tacked on.
The MSRP of the base Solstice in convertible form came in at $23,933 in 2008, which was $27,111 in 2016. The MSRP of GXP convertible came in at $29,070 , which was $32,930 in 2016, decent and moderate prices for the type of vehicle you were purchasing.
